My Company applied PERM in Sept'07 at Chicago. Till now company hasn't heard back yet and now employer is planning to file one more PERM appl. through different Lawyer. Can we file one more application without hearing/know the first case status?

you should not file another perm appl unless it is different job duties. you lawyer should call dol. it takes min of 8 months for perm filed in 07.

I had this experience in the past...when my H1 Extension is applied sometime back, they gave me a new i-94 number (probably due to an error)....however, when I left the country for a vacation, I stapled & returned both I-94's as per my attorney's suggestion (through my emp)...

In any case, please retain a copy of the same....

Technically, before October 1st - there is no employee-employer relation. It can be a trainer-trainee relation like Sun example above.

Also, please don't forget to consult a good lawyer when you have any questions about whether anything is legal or illegal.

What if the validity date of H1 is before the validity date of F1. In other words if the validity date of H1 is 10/1/2009 to 9/30/2012 and the validity date of F1 is 12/15/2009 to D/s but the approval date of F1 is on 7th Jan 2010 and the approval date of H1 is on 14th jan 2010.
